Our Story: A Nurse I Am
A film that became a movement.
A Nurse I Am began in 2007 with a simple belief: nurses deserve to be seen, supported and celebrated.
That belief came to life through the A Nurse I Am documentary, produced by Careismatic Brands, the parent company of Cherokee Uniforms, and directed by award-winning filmmaker David Hoffman. The film captured the real stories of nurses working across a wide range of care environments, offering an honest look at the compassion, resilience and commitment behind the profession.
That same year, Careismatic launched the A Nurse I Am Scholarship to support nursing students as they take their first steps into the field. Designed to help remove financial barriers and open doors, the scholarship invests in nurses at a pivotal moment in their education and careers.
Nursing has evolved over the years, and so has A Nurse I Am. What started as a documentary has grown into an ongoing commitment to the future of nursing. To date, the program has awarded more than $200,000 in scholarship funds and helped support the journeys of over 100 nursing students across the United States
The A Nurse I Am documentary is free to watch on our YouTube channel. We invite you to experience the stories that inspired this scholarship and continue to inspire everything we do.
