The A Nurse I Am film project honors excellent nurses, celebrates the art and science of nursing, and salutes those whose intellect, critical thinking and compassion facilitate healing. Cherokee Uniforms funded the project to provide a useful resource for instructors, facilitators and employers to help maintain and rekindle the enthusiasm and excitement that motivated nurses to become nurses. It is a perfect film to show to new graduate nurses, those who work with them, and experienced nurses.
Cherokee’s wish is for every nurse-in-training, every nursing student and every nurse to view the Educational Version of A Nurse I Am. To make this as easy as possible, Cherokee sent the Educational Version of the film and the A Nurse I Am Discussion Guide to the heads of the nation’s schools of nursing and to the highest-ranking administrative official in thousands of hospitals and other healthcare employers throughout the U.S. We asked these administrators to share the film and the guide with those who have a stake in nurse retention and in the success and development of nurses – nursing leadership, nurse educators, and HR departments. We invited these administrators to show the film to their nursing students, new graduate nurses, staff nurses, and to newly hired nurses during new-nurse orientations – now and in the future.
To help nurses get the most out of the film, we encourage you to use the Discussion Guide. For a free electronic copy, please contact us. Cherokee Uniforms authorizes duplication of this Discussion Guide, including the viewer handouts contained in it, for educational purposes.
